Places of interest.

Helmsley Castle.
This historic monument overlooks the town.The impresive ditches and towers are in stark contrast to the 16th C domestic buildings which were the home of the lord of the manor until 1713.(English Heritage)

Duncombe Park.
This is the home of Lord Feversham sits in attractive parkland on the edge of the town. It was designed by William Wakefield and built in 1713 and has been completely renovated since 1985.

The Old Meeting House Arts Centre.
They run a full programme of events including films, theatre, music, workshops and ballet.

Helmsley Walled Garden.
This historic garden is being lovingly restored . Plants,herbs and fruit are available.

Rievaulx Terrace and Temple.
This can be reached by walking along the Cleveland Way for about 3.5 miles.It is one of the finest Cistercian abbeys in England set in magnificent countryside.
