Helmsley's swifts, Litter Pickers (HeLP), Helmsley Walled Garden for their Alphabet Garden project and Baxton's Road sporting and swimming facilities have all benefited from recent grants awarded by Helmsley Town Council.

Moorsbus and Helmsley Christmas Lights were the latest groups to be awarded £250pa grants for the next three years by Helmsley Town Council at its February Meeting.

Two Helmsley organisations have been the first to benefit from the town council's new policy of awarding grants for 3 financial years. Both Helmsley Community Library and Helmsley Town Hall will receive grants of £250pa. This reduces admin for them and for the council and guarantees their grants.

At its meeting in December 2018, Helmsley Town Council decided to offer 3-year grant awards.
The council customarily allocates a small sum of money in its annual budget to offer grants or donations to organisations whose activities benefit Helmsley and its residents.
The value of any single grant or donation will not usually exceed £250.
